Resolution in Support of Enhanced Protection for Residents of Residential Care Facilities

WHEREAS, the residents of assisted living centers and community residential care facilities

deserve to live in a safe and secure environment that protects their dignity and well-being; and

WHEREAS, the use of video cameras in entrances, exits, and common areas provides an

important tool to help ensure the safety, security, and peace of mind for residents, families, and

staff; and

WHEREAS, the proposed legislation seeks to strengthen protections for those living in

residential care facilities by providing continuous video monitoring at all entrances, exits, and

common areas;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party

supports efforts to enhance the safety and quality of care in residential care facilities through

responsible, continuous video monitoring practices that help protect some of our most

vulnerable citizens.
